Fall 2023 in Review

I found it especially challenging this semester to keep the website up to date! This semester marked the first time teaching organic chemistry. Add into that the need to submit a grant application, and you’ve got a pretty jam-packed semester. But plenty of exciting work happened in the lab this semester and quite a bit of fun, too!

First, a huge shoutout to all of my students for being incredibly productive despite my hectic schedule. My team (both graduate students and undergrads) proved themselves to be so independent. Excitingly, Kyle returned this fall as a research fellow, continuing on with the project he helmed as part of his master’s work. This and one other story should be ready to submit in the coming months! Also, it was great to finally get access to the above photos from a photoshoot the lab participated in last semester.

We capped off the semester with a holiday party at my house

In addition to a couple papers in the new year and a large segment of the group giving talks at the spring ACS meeting, I’m excited to add three new undergraduate students to the lab, Charlie Silver, Charlie Nielson, and Claire Larson. This will be a big year for us as we’ll be losing a number of crucial members of the lab, so it’s great to have a new cohort join us!
