Happy First Birthday to the Lab

One year ago today, I started here at Wesleyan. I arrived to a lab still very much under construction with no equipment and no students. Now we have a fully functioning space, a number of instruments (including big ticket items including our new GPC and rheometer), and a whole bunch of excellent students who have been doing superb research this summer.

Our new Tosoh GPC System is up and running.

We’re excited to have the Elling lab’s first student and recent Wesleyan graduate Kyle sticking around for another year to complete the BA/MA program and continue the research he began last fall.

Maya and Angela both completed their summer research programs and have continued to push our projects along. Both capped off their experiences with phenomenal poster presentations. We’re hoping to continue that momentum into the next academic year.

Angela in front of her poster summarizing the excellent work on our ROMP projects. Hopefully you can see the details soon.

To many more lab anniversaries! Onwards and upwards!
